Harry Collett’s take
In an interview with Radio Times, Harry Collett was asked how Rhaenyra will be affected by losing Jace so soon after Luke. He responded:

“I think she’ll have a bit of an angry turn. I think about Rhaenyra there’s always gonna be sadness and grief there but she’s had sadness and grief before so maybe it’s time for a change.”
This suggests that while grief will remain a constant for Rhaenyra, the cumulative losses, especially Jace’s, may transform her sorrow into something sharper and more dangerous: rage.
From grief to fury
Rhaenyra has already endured immense pain. The death of Lucerys at the hands of Aemond and Vhagar left her heartbroken and vengeful. Now, losing her eldest son and heir, Jace, who died heroically during the Battle of the Gullet is expected to mark a turning point.
Even in the trailer for the 2nd episode, we can see that Rhaenyra’s anger is showing and she is adamant on getting justice through her grief.
Harry’s insight hints that Season 3 will show a more hardened, wrathful version of the Black Queen. Instead of being paralyzed by mourning, Rhaenyra may channel her pain into decisive (and potentially ruthless) action against the Greens.
