George Martin’s Game of Thrones has become one of the most popular fantasy franchises since Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. Martin’s series became an even bigger hit with HBO’s extremely popular television series, whose controversial ending only added to the series’ popularity. Although there have been plans for a new live-action television show that ended up being canceled, HBO is intent on continuing its franchise and cashing in on its success as much as possible.

Keeping this in mind, we have to report that The Hollywood Reporter announced that HBO is potentially working on another two animated TV shows that are going to dive into previously unexplored realms of Martin’s fantasy world. These two shows are going to be additions to the already confirmed prequel series House of Dragon, set for a 2022 release, which is going to tell us the story of the Targaryen Civil War.

As reported, one of the two shows is supposedly going to lead us to “The Golden Empire of Yi Ti (or simply Yi Ti), a region in the continent of Essos, near the south-eastern limits of the known world. The society is considered one of the oldest and most advanced societies in creator George R.R. Martin’s sprawling fantasy realm and is inspired by Imperial China (much the same way Westeros, which was the primary setting for GoT, was inspired by Medieval Europe).”

The second project, as well as the exact fate of these shows, is still shrouded in mystery and knowing that happened with the canceled live-action series, we’ll have to wait and see how these projects actually evolve. What we do know is that you can check (or rewatch) Game of Thrones on your apple devices, as it is available for streaming on HBO’s streaming platform. It will surely occupy you until the actual shows hit the screens.
