House of the Dragon Season 3 Set for Summer 2026

Following the fiery events of Season 2, House of the Dragon returns with even higher stakes and a deeper dive into the Targaryen civil war. HBO CEO Casey Bloys confirmed (via Deadline) that Season 3 is slated for an early summer 2026 release, likely just outside the Emmy eligibility window, hinting at a June premiere. Filming began in March 2025 and is expected to wrap by October, with returning stars Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, and Ewan Mitchell leading the charge. Showrunner Ryan Condal teased a “goddamn massive” season, promising more dragons, more battles, and more political intrigue.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Arrives January 2026

Meanwhile, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, based on George R.R. Martin’s beloved Tales of Dunk and Egg, will premiere in January 2026. Set nearly a century before Game of Thrones, the series follows Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg on adventures across a more peaceful Westeros. Martin himself praised the adaptation, calling it “as faithful as a reasonable man could hope for”. With Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell cast in the lead roles, fans can expect heartfelt storytelling and rich world-building.

With both series landing in 2026, HBO is doubling down on its fantasy empire. Whether you’re craving dragons or chivalry, Westeros will be waiting.
