The coronavirus pandemic is putting a ton of pressure on healthcare systems around the world, and everyone is doing what they can to help. Take Isaac Hempstead Wright, best known for appearing in Game of Thrones as Bran Stark, aka the Three-Eyed Raven, aka the Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protecter of the Realm. He’s pitching in at his step-dad’s printing company, which is now making face masks to give to the National Health Service in Great Britain, which can distribute them to healthcare workers on the front lines in the fight against the virus:

“‘So today, the King of Westeros Bran Stark, aka Isaac Hempstead Wright from Game of Thrones, came into the factory to help with assembly (and a donation),” said Tim Hill, Wright’s step-dad. “We were struggling with demand so are grateful for any help.”

It’s great to see that these efforts are already bearing fruit. If you’re interested in helping the company get the resources it needs to make this personal protective equipment, you can donate here.

Wright isn’t the only figure from a major pop culture franchise getting involved in this fight. Costume designers who have worked on Downton Abbey and Star Wars are sewing scrubs for the NHS, and Warner Bros. is using a fleet of buses normally meant to take visitors to London on Harry Potter tours to ferry medical workers to, from and between hospitals:

Obviously this is a trying time for healthcare workers, but it’s great to see so many people, both those with lots of influence and those without, trying to pitch it to make it a little easier. With any luck, all the effort will make a difference and we’ll be out of the woods soon.
