A long-time fan joins the franchise

Sloane admitted he has been a big Game of Thrones fan for years, making his involvement in the prequel even more special for him.

“I’ve always been a huge fan of Game of Thrones. It’s just been a great pleasure.”

While he jokingly complained about not getting enough personal dragon-riding scenes (“Not enough dragon riding for me personally”), he reassured fans that the season will have plenty of dragon action overall.

Sloane kept most plot details under wraps but left fans optimistic, repeatedly saying the season “looks amazing” and that he is “very excited.”

Who is Adrian Redfort?

Ser Adrian Redfort is Barry Sloane’s first major role in the Game of Thrones universe. Ser Adrian is a knight from House Redfort, a noble but lesser-known vassal house sworn to House Arryn in the Vale. During the Dance of the Dragons (in the book), he becomes one of the loyal knights serving in Rhaenyra Targaryen’s Queensguard (the Blacks) after she seizes King’s Landing. He is chosen as one of the six capable knights to protect the queen under the command of Lord Lorent Marbrand.

The English actor is best known for roles in Revenge, The Sandman, and Hollyoaks. He is a relatively minor but honourable figure who remains faithful to Rhaenyra’s cause during the later stages of the civil war.

With House of the Dragon Season 3 currently in post-production and expected to premiere in summer 2026, Sloane’s comments have added fresh hype to the highly anticipated season. Fans are now even more eager to see Ser Adrian Redfort in action as the Dance of the Dragons continues.
