Jason Momoa became a household name after playing Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones but that didn’t immediately result in cash entering his bank account.
The actor got candid about his financial struggles post-GOT as he admitted he spent several years struggling to pay the bills’ after the famous role.
The 41-year-old – who shares children Lola, 13, and Nakoa-Wolf, 11, with wife Lisa Bonet – admitted there were points when his family were basically ‘starving’.
In an interview with InStyle, he explained: ‘I mean, we were starving after Game of Thrones. I couldn’t get work.
‘It’s very challenging when you have babies and you’re completely in debt.’
Thankfully his luck did begin to change after he was cast as Aquaman in 2016’s Justice League, and the 2018 standalone film about the superhero.
Indeed, the actor has been so busy booking new projects that the family’s days of struggling are long gone.
Jason recently revealed how he has been putting his earning to good use by lovingly restoring his wife Lisa’s first-ever vintage car.
The SEE actor revamped Lisa’s 1965 Ford Mustang in a project he admitted was ’14 years in the making’.
Actress Lisa gasped when she saw her revamped ride, exclaiming: ‘Holy cow! Wow. That is gorgeous.’
