Game of Thrones is coming to an end, but it might be a while before star Kit Harington can escape the shadow of Jon Snow. For example, Harington is reprising the role of Eret in next year’s How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. In this hilarious “audition” footage, Harington shares the screen with the dragon Toothless, and a lot of what he said should ring a bell for Thrones fans:

You gotta love the director calling Harington “Chip.” And this: “First I’m dead, then I’m not. No one knows who my mother is.” If The Hidden World is half as funny as these “outtakes,” I’m gonna have to see it.

In other blatant Game of Thrones references, fans should recognize the moment when Harington reaches out to touch Toothless’ nose. At least Drogon didn’t sneeze on Jon.

How many other references did you spot?

Based on the children’s book series of the same name, How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is the third film in the series. It hits theaters on February 22, well before the final season of Game of Thrones kicks off in April. Dreamworks is no doubt trying to milk Harington’s reputation as a dragon-tamer while it can.
