Kit Harington has offered an extremely entertaining insight into his home life with his wife Rose Leslie and their son as he shows off the ‘dad dance’ moves he uses to try and make their baby laugh.
Earlier this year, Kit’s publicist confirmed that he and Rose had welcomed a son, saying in a statement that the actors, who starred on Game of Thrones together, were ‘very, very happy’.
The couple have been spotted out and about with their son on several occasions, although they’re yet to reveal the six-month-old’s name.
During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Kit, 34, opened up about the different way in which his son reacts to him and Rose, explaining that the tot has more ‘respect’ for his mother.
When asked by Jimmy if he does anything to make the baby laugh, Kit responded: ‘I’d do anything. I think Rose is the one who he seems to respect and love and, like, she’s his safe place,’ as the audience laughed.
‘And I’m just… I just seem to be sheer entertainment. Do you know what I mean? And not even very good entertainment, just entertainment,’ he added.
Kit explained that he tries to use his dance moves to amuse his son, saying that in the past, he thought that he was a good dancer.
‘I put him in his little chair and he likes dancing to the Beatles. But he only likes it if I do these exaggerated moves, so I have to kind of really, …I’ve worked out where the dad dance comes from,’ he said.
Then the moment of truth arrived, as Kit rose from his seat to show Jimmy exactly what he meant.
Kit’s dad dance moves had it all – finger guns, twisting hips and enthusiastic leg kicks, much to the audience’s delight.
As he sat back down, the Modern Love star admitted that he’s ‘lost the old moves entirely’, as now if he finds himself back on a dancefloor, he’ll ‘dance like that’.
‘And then in the future, I know he’s going to mock me about it and I’ll be like, “This is your fault”,’ he quipped.
Jon Snow sure knows how to dad dance like a pro.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs on NBC in the US.
