Kit Harington really doesn’t want to play a character like Jon Snow again, suggesting the last thing we need is characters like the Game of Thrones hero.

Kit starred as the Bastard of Winterfell for the best part of a decade because despite plenty of efforts, Jon Snow refused to die – even when he actually died.

But for the 33-year-old, who is currently blowing fans’ minds in Criminal season 2, he wants to leave playing the ‘silent’ emotionally repressed hero-type behind.

‘I feel that emotionally men have a problem, a blockage, and that blockage has come from the Second World War, passed down from grandfather to father to son,’ Harington told The Telegraph.

‘We do not speak about how we feel because it shows weakness, because it is not masculine.’

Harington will next be seen in Marvel epic, The Eternals, alongside fellow Stark Richard Madden and Angelina Jolie.

However, he still wants to distance himself from playing the next saviour.

‘Having portrayed a man who was silent, who was heroic, I feel going forward that is a role I don’t want to play any more,’ he continued.

‘It is not a masculine role that the world needs to see much more of.’

Kit also revealed he was raised gender-neutral, and despite asking his mum for a Mighty Max as a child, she encouraged him to play with Polly Pockets.

Game of Thrones is available to stream on NOW TV.
