Maisie admitted she was relieved the show was finally over (Picture: NBC/HBO)

Maisie Williams has admitted that she’s relieved that her time as Arya Stark on Game Of Thrones is over – mainly because she doesn’t have to worry about letting slip spoilers anymore.

The actress, who played the small but mighty fighter in the fantasy series, had been sworn to secrecy over any plot lines in the show – which over the course of 10 years, definitely runs a risk of things being let slip.

(She even trolled everyone about it with an epic prank last April.)

But as of last year, the series is over, and the 23-year-old can’t help but admit that she’s happy to close that chapter on her life – or at least talk about the show freely.

Speaking on Jimmy Fallon, Maisie admitted: ‘It is so nice. I used to walk down the street, and every single person that would recognize me, the only thing they’d ever want to know is, “tell me what happens to the next season”, “did Jon Snow really die?”, “are you going to be blind forever?!” – All of these things that I just couldn’t talk about.

‘Now, I guess people actually just ask me like, what did you think of the final season. There’s a lot of speculation over, you know, the success of it.’

The final season of Game Of Thrones wasn’t without its controversy, with many fans unhappy with how the series ended.

In fact, millions signed a petition demanding season eight be reshot, and even actor Charles Dance said that he wasn’t best impressed either.

But Maisie continued to defend the show, and told Jimmy: ‘We had such a blast we loved it.

‘I was so happy with my ending, and it was just a beautiful end to a decade of my life, and I just couldn’t be happier with it.’

Game Of Thrones is available on Sky Atlantic and HBO.
