Gunpowder Milkshake has landed a UK release date.

The much-anticipated action movie, which boasts an impressive cast including Marvel‘s Karen Gillan and Game of Thrones‘ Lena Headey, is set to hit cinemas and Sky Cinema on September 17.

The film tells the story of Sam (Gillan), who was abandoned by her assassin mother Scarlet (Headey) when she was little.

Years later she has followed in her mother’s footsteps and grown into a fierce hitwoman after being raised by The Firm – the ruthless crime syndicate Scarlet worked for.

However, she’s forced to choose between The Firm and the life of an 8-year-old girl when a job goes wrong, and with a target on her back she must reunite with her mother and her lethal associates, The Librarians, as they take on The Firm and their henchmen.

The Librarians are played by Black Panther‘s Angela Bassett, Star Trek: Discovery‘s Michelle Yeoh and The Haunting of Bly Manor‘s Carla Gugino.

Also on board are The Amazing Spider-Man 2‘s Paul Giamatti, The Witcher‘s Freya Allen, Vikings‘ Ivan Kaye, Whiskey Cavalier‘s David Burnell IV, Chernobyl‘s Adam Nagaitis and Game of Thrones‘ Ralph Ineson.

US viewers will be getting Gunpowder Milkshake earlier than the UK, with a Netflix-only release on July 14.

Gunpowder Milkshake is released in UK cinemas and on Sky Cinema on September 17, while NOW users will be able to watch via the Sky Cinema Pass.
