Enola Holmes star Millie Bobby Brown has revealed that she once auditioned for a big part on Game of Thrones but got rejected, causing her to consider quitting acting.

Despite the fact she’s already had a hugely successful at age 16, Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown says she almost quit acting after she was rejected for a part on Game of Thrones – it was pretty iconic part too.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon Millie said that early on in her career she auditioned for the part of Lyanna Mormont, the feisty head of House Mormont who became a fan favourite after her rousing speech in support of John Snow as King in the North.

“This industry is just full of rejection,” she said. “You get no’s, a lot of no’s, before you get a yes.”

Speaking about auditioning for Game of Thrones, she explained, “I got a no for that. That’s kind of when I was like, ‘Oh, this is really difficult,’ and I guess I really wanted that role.”

The role went to The Worst Witch‘s Bella Ramsey who played Lyanna Mormont throughout seasons 6 to 8, until her tragic showdown with a giant during the huge battle in season 8.

Luckily for us, Millie didn’t quit the acting game and went on to play Eleven in Stranger Things, and most recently starred as Enola Holmes in the eponymous Netflix show, alongside Henry Cavill and Helena Bonham Carter.
