Naomi Watts has been cast in the Game Of Thrones prequel spin-off.
Watts, 50, will lead the new ensemble cast in the prequel pilot written by Jane Goldman and executive produced by Game Of Thrones creator George RR Martin, according to Deadline.
If you’re unfamiliar, Watts is most known for starring in Peter Jackson’s King Kong, The Ring and The Impossible opposite Ewan McGregor.
Little is known about the planned spin-off, other than it’ll take place thousands of years before events in Game Of Thrones in the Age Of Heroes.
In Game Of Thrones lore, the Age Of Heroes began with the pact which brought about peace between the First Men and the Children Of The Forest at the end of the Dawn Age.
The period is strongly tied with the Long Night, an intense Winter which lasted an entire generation pitting the Westeros population in a battle against the undead.
Game Of Thrones will return for its final season in 2019.
