The Winterfell set at Moneyglass, Northern Ireland takes center stage once again as filming on Game of Thrones season 8 continues. Warning: there are SPOILERS below.

We’ve known for a while that there will be a massive battle in and/or around the Stark ancestral castle. On-set video gives us a preview of what we’re in for:

On Sunday, photos from Twitter account GoTlike Location showed what looks like the aftermath of that battle, with corpses strew across the snow-covered fields next to the castle set. Take a look:

And here it is zoomed in:

Some of those corpses look like horses. No animals are harmed in the making of Game of Thrones. No real ones, anyway.

The Twitter account also noticed what look like four figures standing around a body. Soldiers mourning their fallen comrades? Wights rising from the dead? Extras mulling around the set after the director yells “cut”?

It’s hard to know what all of this portends. Winterfell has been attacked, but by whom? Are the soldiers living or dead? And does all of this happen before or after Winterfell gets [MAJOR SPOILER]?

Filming at the Winterfell set has been running consistently since January, so whatever’s happening here, it promises to be huge. What do you all make of it? Let us know below!
