Set in 79 A.D., Pompeii tells the epic story of Milo (Kit Harrington), a slave turned invincible gladiator who finds himself in a race against time to save his true love Cassia (Emily Browning), the beautiful daughter of a wealthy merchant who has been unwillingly betrothed to a corrupt Roman Senator (Kiefer Sutherland). As Mount Vesuvius erupts in a torrent of blazing lava, Milo must fight his way out of the arena in order to save his beloved as the once magnificent Pompeii crumbles around him.

It is my understanding that gladiators were treated far better than what this movie indicates. Too much unbelievable Hollywood bullshit. Don't get me started, but just to mention one thing: one day after getting whipped 15 times, you're ready to fight the very next day! Are you fucking kidding me?

Uh…seriously considering what the movie is about (Pompeii) -they sure screwed it up with a whole character backstory…although I suppose a volcanic explosion is not really a story with a good ending…might as well end with a kiss. Not a fan of Roman-era movies besides because they are so bloody.
