Game Of Thrones actor Roy Dotrice has died aged 94, ‘surrounded by his family’.

The veteran actor, also famous for his role in Amadeus, played Hallyne the Pyromancer in the HBO series.

His family said in a statement that he died ‘peacefully on Monday October 16 in his London home surrounded by family, including his three daughters, grandchildren and great-grandson’, reports The Sun.

Roy, who also received an OBE in 2008, was a keen fan of GOT, also narrating George RR Martin’s A Song Of Ice And Fire audiobook collection.

With many strings on his bow, he was also a Tony Award winner and held a Guinness World Record holder for the greatest number of characters voiced in an audio book, at 224, in 2004.

In Amadeus, he played Leopold Mozart.

Other TV projects include the BBC adaptation of AP Herbert’s Misleading Cases, Life Begins, Shaka Zulu and Mr And Mrs Smith. Films included The Cutting Edge and Eliminators.

Before turning to acting in 1957, Dotrice was in the military.
