Fans of Game of Thrones are no strangers to horrific death scenes, having witnessed the most gruesome of those in all of television history. The prequel House of The Dragon is walking in its predecessor’s line, and has featured some kind of graphic death scene in every episode. Fans were horrified at the tragic death of the Hand of King Ser Lyonel Strong, and his son and Rhaenyra’s alleged lover, Harwin Strong. They were particularly shocked at Ser Harwin’s death, as many saw him as Princess Rhaenyra’s shining knight in armor.

However, there is some kind of mystery surrounding the character, as to how Harwin and Rhaenyra actually fell in love with each other in the first place. There have been several speculations, as the entire storyline has been covered up in the time skips that have happened in the show over the entire run of the series. Actor Ryan Corr, who played Ser Harwin, recently shed some light on how the two characters found a common ground.
In the episode “Gone Too Soon” of the official Game of Thrones podcast, Corr revealed, “I think we see early on when they first meet within the television show, they both share an anti-authoritarianism. They both share this anarchic, sort of, need to break out of the system. You know, Rhaenyra, obviously, out of the patriarchy, and out of a way that doesn’t feel like she’s being listened. Harwin, I think, in many different ways, but there is a common ground there that whatever rails the world’s trying to keep them on, they sort of push against.”
