Rehearsals for Game of Thrones season 8 are going on right now, with filming set to begin next week. Depending on who you believe, shooting could carry on until as late as August of 2018, but by the sound of it, the cast will get a little break somewhere in there: if Kit Harington has his way, they’ll all come to his wedding to costar Rose Leslie (Ygritte).
Over the weekend, Kit Harington stopped by The Jonathan Ross Show to chat about life, work, and what-have-you. While there, he told the story of how he proposed to Leslie, who he’s been dating for years.
Something to think about: should these two have kids, they’ll be able to look up their father saying he “blew [his] load early” when proposing to their mom. The internet really is wonderful.
There are parts of the interview not available on YouTube. According to Indiewire, Harington also revealed that the wedding will fall during the expansive season 8 shooting schedule. “I rang [the producer] up and I said, ‘I’m getting married and it’s your fault actually.’ I think for the final season he is so stressed that he’s reached that peaceful level.”
I was like, ‘You need to factor in a “Game of Thrones” wedding by the way.’ [The cast] have all got to be there so the whole thing has got to shut down.
Indiewire doesn’t mention which producer Harington is talking about, but it’s likely either David Benioff or Dan Weiss. It also doesn’t mention how long any break will last, but it likely won’t be more than a day or two. Hopefully the cast enjoys the time away.
Not enjoying herself: Rose Leslie on April Fools’ Day. Harington told a story about a prank he pulled and…well, just watch the tape:
Who says Jon Snow has no sense of humor?
