Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner didnât tell her parents she auditioned for the role of Sansa Stark.
After scooping one of the leading characters in the fantasy saga at the age of 13, the now 23-year-old revealed she kept her mum and dad in the dark until she was down to the final seven.
When chatting to Vogue Paris, the actress who is currently promoting her new movie Dark Phoenix, revealed her mum Sally âfreaked outâ when she landed the part.
The star said: âWell, I didnât tell my parents I auditioned for Game of Thrones, they just kind of found out.â
Joined by her X-Men co-star Jessica Chastain, Sophie added she auditioned with her friends as they thought it was a âjokey thing to do.â
âMy parents found out when I was in the final seven,â she explained before adding: âAnd then my mum kind of freaked out, and she called my dad and said, âI donât know if we can do this.â
âBut my dad said, âshut up, this is what she has wanted her whole life. You have to let her give it a go.ââ
When finding out sheâd play the Stark sister, her mum celebrated with a pizza pool party, and according to Sophie, âit was the best day ever.â
But despite playing Sansa for more than 10 years, it seems she is well and truly done with the role.
Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Sophie admitted her alter ego had âpeakedâ and she doesnât want her to go through any more âterrible traumas.â
âItâs time for me to say goodbye,â she confessed before adding: âSheâs ended up in a place that Iâm so happy with. I donât know.â
âIt would be different if someone actually came and said, âWe want to do a Sansa spin-off show,â but Iâm pretty sure Iâd say no.â
Sophie continued: âItâs been 10 years of watching this character grow, and sheâs at her peak right now.
âIâm sure if she carried on and did a spin-off show, it would just be downhill from there. Sheâd have to go through some other terrible traumas or something, and I donât want to do that.â
Game of Thrones seasons one to eight are available to stream on NOW TV.
