Warning: Major spoilers for Game of Thrones season 8, episode 3 below.

Game of Thrones season eight, episode three aired last night on HBO in the US and delivered the most epic battle sequence of all time.

Sadly however with the bloody battle came a lot of high profile character deaths and Sansa Stark star Sophie Turner posted about one on her Instagram this morning.

While most American fans got to tune in at 9pm last night, The Long Night didn’t air until 2am GMT on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV, meaning most fans on this side of the pond will have to wait until it airs again tonight to see what happened.

Sophie, 23, posted a touching tribute to Theon (played by Alfie Allen) who was killed by the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) after heroically protecting Bran (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) all episode.

Speaking to her 10.8 million followers she wrote: ‘To Alfie and to Theon…. “You’re a good man”’ along with a photo of the character’s last moment.

It’s a pretty big spoiler (Picture: HBO)

‘You’re a good man,’ was what Bran said to Theon just before he faced certain death by charging at the White Walkers.

Several fans immediately commented to complain about Sophie spoiling the moment.

One wrote: ‘Wow ok not actually seen the episode but.’

While another added: ‘Ffs. I’m in the UK and don’t see this till tonight!!! Cheers.’
‘lol, I haven’t seen the episode yet. That’s not fairrrrrrrr.’

However, many rushed to her defence claiming fans should stay off social media until they’ve seen the episode.

‘pretty rude to come to her place on the internet and police what she is and isn’t allowed to say. You have no idea if it is a spoiler or not, just mind your own business and scroll past anything without reading that looks like it could be a spoiler.’

We think avoiding Twitter and Instagram until you’ve watched the episode is definitely the safest bet.

Game of Thrones season 8, episode 4 airs next Sunday and Monday on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.
