Game Of Thrones’ Sophie Turner has another fight for survival in her new role – but this time she’s got her head and her body both against her in Quibi series, Survive.

The new series, which will launch on the short-form mobile streaming service in April, will see Sophie play a young woman named Jane, who has just been released from a mental health facility.

Returning to life after attempting suicide, she finds herself quickly in bigger trouble than she thought after getting into a plane crash on the way home.

One of only two survivors, she is forced to team up with Paul (played by Straight Outta Compton’s Corey Hawkins), as they try to get to safety.

But with Jane’s mental health still hanging on by a thread, the elements against them as they land on a snowy mountain, and both injured, they’re on a race against time.

Speaking after getting the role, Sophie said: ‘I couldn’t be more honoured to portray the role of Jane in Survive for Quibi.

‘She’s a complex character fighting against the odds to not only save her life, but to also find her own source of strength and courage.’

‘I only hope this can impact anyone struggling with self-worth to understand they are braver than they know and to seek the support they need,’ the actress added.

The series will be released in short videos, with Quibi’s format meaning every episode runs for just 10 minutes or less.

Its groundbreaking format has seen numerous a-listers sign up for their own show, with an estimated $1.1billion being spent on his launch in April.

Shows include Chance the Rapper rebooting Punk’d on the format, Drag Race’s Sasha Velour launching her own competition series, Kill The Efrons, which will see Zac Efron and his brother head off on adventures around the world, and Chrissy Teigen becoming the platform’s answer to Judge Judy in Chrissy’s Court.

Survive launches on 6 April on Quibi.
