Tyrion Lannister is arguably the most popular TV character in recent times while Thanos is one of the most talked about villains in Hollywood movies of recent times. Can you imagine if the two ever meet? What would that be like – both are witty, full of quick quips, a bundle of wisdom with sassy one-liners. Spoiler alert – they do meet, but not as their iconic characters.
According to a report in Hollywood Reporter, British actor Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister in Game of Thrones and American actor Josh Brolin, who will reprise his role of Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, are set to work together for a film. The report reveals that the film is a comedy which is being written by the writers of the iconic Robert Downey Jr, Ben Stiller and Tom Cruise-starrer 2008 film Tropic Thunder.
For those unaware, this upcoming comedy film won’t be the first Hollywood flick in which Dinklage and Brolin will team up. In fact, Peter Dinklage had also starred in Avengers: Infinity War as Eitri the Dwarf. He is the same character that Thor meets with Rocket and Groot when he arrives at Nidavellir to forge a new weapon to kill Thanos.
Eitri, who ruled as king of the Dwarves of Nidavellir, was also the one who made Thor’s famous hammer Mijolnir, which Thor’s elder sister Hela destroyed in Thor: Ragnarok. Dinklage’s character in Avengers: Infinity War, upon learning that Thor’s hammer was destroyed, made him a new weapon, Stormbreaker, which eventually Thor uses to stab Thanos with during the climax of Infinity War.
