A big Game of Thrones fan
In a lively interview at Budapest Comic Con, Frankel was asked if he connects with the Game of Thrones franchise on a fan level or if his experience is limited to playing Criston Cole. He openly admitted he was a huge fan long before joining the spin-off. Frankel shared that while he was fresh out of drama school, Game of Thrones was the biggest show on television. At the time, he was working in catering for fancy events.
He recalled a funny moment with his brother when a family friend asked what he was doing. Frankel replied that he was an actor, only for his brother to jokingly say, “Dude, you’re not really an actor yet. You need to be in something like Game of Thrones.” Three years later, Frankel got his revenge in the best way possible, laughing as he recalled thinking, “Psych, m******cker.”

He described Game of Thrones as “one of the best shows ever” and confirmed he was a big fan during its original run.
Praise for House Martell
When asked if he had a favourite house, Frankel didn’t hesitate:
“Yeah, I like the Martells a lot… because they’re Dornish, you know. That’s my people right there. Like, if I grow a mustache, maybe,” playfully embracing the Dornish aesthetic and spirit. He also mentioned that he was a Baratheon fan as well, especially Robert Baratheon.
The fun and humble interview resonated well with the fans, many of whom appreciated seeing the actor share his genuine fandom and sense of humour.
