A star of The Witcher has opened up about whether the show will be as big as Game of Thrones.

With a lot of new shows vying for a fanbase to rival that of the recently ended HBO series, the forthcoming Netflix adaptation of The Witcher is certainly one of the top contenders.

Based on the popular fantasy saga written by Andrzej Sapkowski and boasting a cast that includes Henry Cavill, the series is expected to hit screens later this year.

And, speaking recently, Yennefer actress Anya Chalotra discussed the “very scary” and totally possible prospect of the show being as big as GoT.

“[The show blowing up like GoT] means my life would blow up as well, wouldn’t it?” She told Comicbook.com.

“Yeah. You know, I’m taking it moment to moment and this already has been very overwhelming.

“It’s very scary. This today [press at San Diego Comic-Con] was scary. But then you meet the fans and you realise why you’re doing it and suddenly you go ‘ah, they’re on your side.'”

Speaking recently, The Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt revealed the biggest Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) change from the books.

Henry Cavill also shared some first-look pictures of The Witcher cast in action, while its first trailer also dropped recently.

The Witcher will air on Netflix.
