In Game of Thrones season 9, the Red Priestess Kinvara resurrects Daenerys Targaryen, who gets her revenge…or at least that’s where our minds went looking at this image.
Game of Thrones ended with Daenerys Targaryen, the woman we’d watched rise from the ashes to become a leader over the course of eight seasons, snapping and setting fire to King’s Landing, killing thousands of innocent men, women and children. In the end, Jon Snow killed her before she could follow suit elsewhere in Westeros.
The ending surprised people, to put it lightly. Almost immediately, people started to think about what happened afterwards. After all, it’s not like anyone burned Daenerys’ body; they didn’t have a chance, because Drogon scooped her up and flew her off to parts unknown. Some started to speculate that he took her to Volantis, the home base of those who follow the Lord of Light. Might someone in that order — say the Red Priestess Kinvara, whom we met in season 6 — have resurrected her like Melisandre resurrected Jon Snow?
It’s a theory that made the rounds. And although I missed it at the time, it looks like it inspired artist celindelouisa to create this image:
Kinvara resurrects Daenerys in the first episode of season 9, and Daenerys takes her revenge. Now I believe she’d burn down a city…and I might be rooting for her this time.
Obviously this is just a bit of fun — there’s not really a season 9 on the way…but if there was and this happened I would watch it, is all I’m saying.
