I would have much prefered to see the Hawk and Dove brothers instead.
I'd love to see red head Wally West on the show but it won't happen.
I don't think it would be smart to pair up too many of the team members together. Just do Starfire and Dick Grayson (if they have chemistry.) However, it's too early to even be pairing up these two on season 1. They should take their time with it.

Raven and beast boy, I think it's pretty obvious that it happened because of the popularity the cartoons made, plus Raven revival and de age, she was brought back in the body of a teenager. Beast Boy and Raven together happened in the comic book canon in Teen titans vol 3, it has been seen in Titans, 52 and other titles. They had an off and on relationship ending in them being together in the teen titans vol 3 final issue. After that all of it was retconned with the new 52. And for now Raven is with Kid flash in the rebirth comics( I think as a call back for the thing that the red head Wally and Raven had in the new teen titans by Marv and George)
Beast Boy & Raven WERE a couple back when they were the Titans. But she grew distant and they broke up. Fans have been wanting them together since Terra showed up in the cartoon
