It’s also impossible to watch everything these days given that 2016 produced roughly 450 scripted shows. So if your favorite series didn’t make this list, it’s not because I’m trying to start a war in the comments section.

10. The Good Place (NBC)
The first half of season one averaged 5.14 million live viewers, besting the first season of NBC’s other recent comedy Superstore (5.08 million) and comparing favorably to ABC’s Black-ish (5.84 million).

9. Westworld (HBO)
The season finale drew a series-high 2.2 million live viewers. Overall, Westworld averaged around 12 million weekly viewers when factoring in Live + 7 numbers, making it the network’s most-watched first season ever for an original scripted series.

8. This Is Us (NBC)
This Is Us is blowing away other rookies shows, averaging a healthy 9.5 million live viewers and an impressive 2.61 in the advertiser-friendly 18-49 demographic.

7. The Night Of (HBO)
The Night Of averaged 1.41 million live viewers. While it wasn’t a smash hit in the ratings – the first season of True Detective averaged 2.33 million viewers – the series did score three Golden Globes nominations this year.

6. Stranger Things (Netflix)
Netflix doesn’t release its viewership data, but Stranger Things left a significant cultural footprint. It was one of Netflix’s most discussed originals on social media. Fans are now eagerly awaiting its second season.

5. The Americans (FX)
The Americans is a criminally under-watched show (season four averaged less than 1 million live viewers). But, lucky for us TV fanatics, FX president John Landgraf knows quality TV when he sees it and has renewed the series for two shortened seasons to wrap things up.

4. Game of Thrones (HBO)
Season six averaged 7.68 million live viewers and north of 23 million overall, making it more popular than AMC’s The Walking Dead. It’s pretty clear which series sits on TV’s Iron Throne.

3. Better Call Saul (AMC)
Better Call Saul saw its audience shrink from 3.21 million live viewers in season one to 2.15 million in its sophomore run. Here’s to hoping more people tune into this masterpiece in season three.

2. Atlanta (FX)
The first season didn’t crack 1 million weekly live viewers, though it was nominated for two Golden Globes including Best TV, Musical or Comedy Series.

1. The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story (FX)
Audiences responded immediately as the first season averaged 3.28 million live viewers, more than American Horror Story: Roanoke’s 2.93 million. Unsurprisingly, it has been nominated for four Golden Globes.
