Top 10 Best Android Card Games List
Microsoft Solitaire Collection
If you grew up with an old Dell, Gateway, or Hewlett-Packard PC in the 90s, you have probably played at least one game of Microsoft Solitaire. Microsoft has brought back that nostalgic feeling and wrapped up five different solitaire games into one glorious collection for the players, making this one of the best card games on Android.
Having five different solitaire games in one isn’t the only reason this is a game worth picking up though. There’s daily challenges for you to complete so you can earn rewards and badges. There’s also millions of players, and you can play with friends if you sign into the game with your Xbox Live account.
In this collection you’ll find Klondike Solitaire, Spider Solitaire, Freecell Solitaire, Tri Peaks Solitaire, and Pyramid Solitaire.
Pokémon TCG Online
Pokémon is most famous for the Game Boy games that came out decades ago, but since then has grown into a worldwide phenomenon across various forms of media and entertainment. One of those is the Pokémon Trading Card Game, and this is the mobile version of it.
Pokémon TCG Online is a lot like the physical version of the game, except you can take it with you anywhere without having to carry a bunch of physical cards with you. Which is one of the reasons why we picked it for the best android card games list.
The only downside here is that you can only play the game on tablets. As it won’t support phones. Which means it will limit who can play it. Still, it has all the hallmarks of a great Pokémon card game, letting you build your perfect deck, earn booster packs and more.
If you’ve always been a Pokémon card game fan and have a tablet (or plan to get one), check this out.
Reigns: Game Of Thrones
There are a few different versions of Reigns, and this one is themed after Game of Thrones. Making it perfect for fans of the series.
Reigns: Game of Thrones tasks you with deciding the fate of the seven kingdoms. Rule on the Iron Throne with the different leaders (all characters from the show and books), and unlock new leaders as you progress.
Each leader also offers up unique challenges for you to complete, which expand the stories of those particular characters. In addition to the main game, which is a single player experience, there are also mini-games for you to sink your teeth into.
The Elder Scrolls: Legends
Fan of The Elder Scrolls series? The Elder Scrolls: Legends has what you’d probably want in a card game. It’s a strategy-based card game which means you’ll battle it out against other players for victory.
While there are PvP-based modes, there’s also a fair amount of single player content. For instance, there are numerous campaigns for players to finish, and there’s a solo arena that lets players practice their skills.
Since this is a strategy card game, winning is all about having a good deck filled with powerful cards, and playing the right cards at the right time. In other words, knowing what to play or how to respond to a card played by the enemy.
As you collect more cards and grow your deck, you can level the cards up to make them stronger. Which you’ll definitely want to do. There’s daily and monthly login rewards to acquire as well. So even if you don’t plan on playing some days, make sure to log in and at least get your bonuses.
Card Thief
Card Thief takes the style of Solitaire when it comes to gameplay and fuses plenty of its own interesting elements into it. It’s a fresh take on a classic game that people have loved for years.
And it’s why Card Thief is one of the best card games on Android. Among other reasons. Matches in this game play out as heists. You’re a stealthy thief, and your goal is to acquire items and make your way back to your hideout at the end.
In your hideout you can unlock equipment cards with great power to play in your next match. There are four different heists to play, and each one has a unique type of enemy to mix things up.
Matches are also set up to be no more than a few minutes each. So this is a perfect game to play if you only have a little bit of time.
There’s also a lot of tactical gameplay involved, so you’ll still need to think about the moves you make each turn.
Card Thief is filled with fun and has some pretty cool visuals. It’s also free, and it’s one of the titles included with Google’s Play Pass service.
Mythgard CCG
Like many of the options on this list, Mythgard is collectible card battler. There’s a huge card collection that includes over 400 cards, offering up plenty of variety in the way you play your hand.
Players can dive into the the magic-filled world of Mythgard and take on the game solo, or play in 1v1 or 2v2 battles against other players.
While there are in-game purchases in Mythgard, every card can also be earned through gameplay. Every. Card. Which means you don’t have to spend any money to acquire the most powerful cards there are.
Once you become a little bit more familiar with the gameplay mechanics, feel free to try your skills out in the ranked mode. Or build the best deck you can early on and dive into the ranked more as soon as possible.
Exploding Kittens
- Price: $1.99
- In-game purchases: Yes
- Download: Google Play
Exploding kittens is a card game where victory relies a little bit on chance, and a little bit on strategy. The goal is to be the last person in the game.
You and anyone else playing must draw cards in sequence, and whoever gets the exploding kitten card is blown up and knocked out of the game. There are however ways to avoid getting knocked out. Certain cards will let you nullify the exploding kitten card. Such as the laser pointer card.
There are also other various cards that can help you dictate the direction of the game. All of the cards are drawn by Matthew Inman, the artist behind The Oatmeal. So there’s a good amount of comedy baked into the gameplay.
It might seem ridiculous at first, but trust us. This is a fun one and it’s a wonderful game for parties or small groups of friends. You can play online with strangers, or you can play with up to five friends locally. Or as little as two.
Hearthstone
Hearthstone needs little introduction as it’s been one of the most popular card games out there for a few years now. This is also a card battler and is one of the best card games on Android simply because it’s just one of the best card games.
It centers around the lore of the World of Warcraft universe and features numerous adventures and expansions that have added in hundreds of cards over the years.
It even gets seasonal events just like WoW. It’s possible to dive into Hearthstone right away with little to no knowledge of how to play. You will however want to try and learn the game if you want to eventually win your matches.
There’s a deep story to follow, but also a rich and complex tactical nature to the way you play. Duel against one other player in ranked and non-ranked games, or against seven other players in the Battlegrounds mode. You can even enjoy the game in the solo adventures where you play against the computer.
GWENT: The Witcher Card Game
GWENT is a card battler much like Hearthstone but it comes from the universe of The Witcher. Developers CD Projekt Red have deemed it to have a fair and fun progression system.
What that should tell you is that GWENT is easy to pick up, difficult to master, and progressing through the game and getting better cards for a more powerful deck isn’t something that you’ll need to spend a whole lot of money to do.
GWENT also features multiple modes for you to dive into. A PvP mode, a solo mode, Arena mode for ranked matches, and more. Wins grant you new cards through unlocks, so aiming for the victory is in your best interest.
And one interesting element of the game is that you can play any of the cards in your starting hand immediately. You don’t have to wait until you have enough runes to play a specific card.
This is a strategic card game though. So playing your strongest cards at the very beginning may not be the best move. Then again maybe it is.
Legends Of Runeterra
Last but not least on this list of best Android card games is Legends of Runeterra. It’s the newest card game on this list and probably one of the newest on Android in general.
This is based on the universe of League of Legends, and though it has a different set of characters and is based around a different game world than the others, it’s still a card battler. So your goal is to take on enemies with a strong deck and try to beat them with your best hands.
What sets it a little bit apart is the ability to react to cards played at any time. Your opponents can do this as well though. So matches can get heated pretty quickly.
If you’re a big fan of League of Legends, then this is the card game you want to play. It’s actually very fun and it has some really cool graphics to help make it stand out.
