Ah, Game of Thrones nostalgia. When you’re feeling wistful for days in Westeros gone by, you can always bring up YouTube and queue up the iconic intro song. And when you’re bored with that, you can sample some of the dozens of creative covers people have made over the years, of the intro and other tunes from the show. Let’s take a look at some.
First up, Redditor muslim_thanos has added a Spanish guitar flair to the intro song, mixed with a driving beat. I’ve got to say, it’s pretty damn great.
I wish there was a full version of that. Muslim_thanos, if you’re reading, let us know!
Next, YouTuber Device Orchestra gives us a preview of the robot uprising:
That’s definitely impressive. Still, those toothbrushes were vibrating rather violently…and you know what Westworld says about violence.
Below, we have YouTuber Seth Wilkins paying tribute to Jon and Daenerys on acoustic guitar. It’s a thing of beauty. Enjoy.
The next time you’re in the lounge at the airport waiting for your flight, you can jam out to this simmered down version of the intro from Redditor amtw7083:
Chill.
Is lo-fi not your thing? Maybe a retro synthesized version of the theme song is more up your alley:
Personally, I prefer the 8-bit version played in front of the Take the Black Podcast:
Okay, things are getting a little low energy. Pump them back up with Aram Zero’s symphonic metal cover of “Light of the Seven”:
And we’ve back to lo fi with this hip hop take on the theme song from Vibe the Way.
YouTuber ChewDa2 Universe went the extra mile for his cover of “Jenny of Oldstones” and got some footage of a creepy old church and cemetery:
Any Rainbow Six Siege fans out there? This high energy take on the theme song plays great over footage from the game:
Gonna have to give best in show to the singing typewriters and tooth brushes. Which did you enjoy most?
