So many trailers, so little time! Every TV and movie studio under the sun wants to get you hyped for their next big project, and they all seem to have released trailers at once. Let’s take a look at some of the biggest!
First up, AMC dropped a new trailer for Interview With The Vampire, its upcoming adaptation of Anne Rice’s beloved horror novel. Compared to the 1994 movie version, the time period has been changed and the homosexual undertones are now overtones, but this still looks like the same opulently gothic tale about dysfunctional bloodsuckers. Watch below:
That’s Game of Thrones star Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm) as Louis and Sam Reid as Lestat, who turns him into a vampire. Interview With The Vampire premieres on AMC on October 2, just in time for Halloween.
The Rock is really angry in new trailer for Black Adam
Next up, Warner Bros. Discovery dropped a new trailer for Black Adam, Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson’s long-awaited foray into the superhero genre. What makes Black Adam different from other superheroes? He’s really, really, really angry.
The movie ties nominally into the rest of the DCEU; for instance, Viola Davis makes another appearance as Amanda Waller. But the DCEU has always been a bit looser than the MCU. If you wanna watch this one, watch it for the Rock scowling and smashing stuff.
Black Adam lands in theaters on October 21.
Watch the trailer for the third and final season of Star Trek: Picard
Did you know that yesterday was Star Trek Day? Paramount+ isn’t going to let you forget. They released a trailer for the third and final season of Star Trek: Picard, starring Patrick Stewart as the titular Starfleet captain.
PIcard has always been a celebration of Star Trek’s history, but the third season will kick things up a notch by bringing back tons of actors from the franchise’s past, particular Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Star Trek: Picard season 3 premieres on February 16 of 2023.
Watch the trailer for Knives Out 2
Okay, this next one isn’t a sci-fi/fantasy show, but it is pretty big: Rian Johnson’s star-studded mystery dramedy Knives Out was a big hit in 2019. Netflix bought the rights to multiple sequels, and the first is coming out right around the corner. Take a look:
The new movie is called Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, meaning Netflix is gonna try to turn this into a franchise. Best of luck.
Technically, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery doesn’t have a firm release date just yet, but Netflix claims that it’s “coming soon.”
Watch the trailer for Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler
Pennyworth, a show about the origin of Batman’s butler Alfred, has been chugging along for a couple seasons now. The new season will premiere on HBO Max, and the new title leaves no doubt about what you’re in for. Watch the trailer for Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler:
I cannot get over how bluntly hilarious that title is. The trailer itself looks fun; I like the groovy 1960s spy aesthetic is has going on.
Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler (phew) premieres on HBO Max on October 6.
From the people behind Westworld, watch the trailer for The Peripheral
Did you watch Westworld and wished it were more confusing? Then this final trailer might be for you.
Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are making an adaptation of The Peripheral, a story by sci-fi icon William Gibson about a bright young woman (Chloë Grace Moretz) whose intelligence is going to waste in her small-minded community. She gets a chance for some excitement when she’s hired to explore a virtual world where the dangers may be more real than advertised.
The Peripheral premieres on Amazon Prime Video on October 21. And it looks like you’re booked for a couple of months.
