As Game of Thrones winds down, some fans are finding it hard to say goodbye to their favorite characters. While this season will be the final time fans will see the residents of Westeros and Essos, it definitely won’t be the last time the actresses that play them will appear onscreen.

Most of the cast already has projects lined up and some even have movies set to hit the big screen next month. Let’s take a look at what some of the Game of Thrones leading ladies will be up to.

Maisie Williams

Fans of Game of Thrones have watched Arya Stark grow from a little girl into a strong, powerful, young woman. The 22-year-old actress, who had zero acting credits to her name before the hit HBO show, already has several projects that will keep her busy now that she is done filming Game of Thrones.

Williams just began filming on the movie adaptation of the comic book series The Owners. The film is set in the 1990s and directed by Julius Berg. The movie also stars Sylvester McCoy, of Doctor Who, and Rita Tushingham. Fans can also catch her in the new X-Men movie The New Mutants, coming out August 2.

Sophie Turner

Like Williams, the 23-year-old actress will also be joining the X-Men franchise. Turner will play Jean Grey in the upcoming X-Men: Dark Phoenix. The actress first played the role in 2016 in X-Men Apocalypse. Turner will also appear in the upcoming drama, Heavy, set to be released later this year. Other projects include Broken Soldier and Girl Who Fell From the Sky.

Gwendoline Christie

While fans of Game of Thrones may not be too happy with how Brienne of Tarth was treated in a recent episode of the show, they don’t have to worry about the actress’ future. Christie has plenty of work to keep her busy. She will play Jane Murdston in The Personal History of David Copperfield. The Worthing native will also appear opposite Dakota Johnson and Jason Segel in The Friend.

Emilia Clarke

Even though Game of Thrones was the show that put Clarke on the map, the 32-year-old actress has seen tremendous success outside of the franchise. In 2015, Clarke appeared in Solo: A Star Wars Story. The same year she played Sarah Connor in Terminator Genisys. The London-born actress has two projects scheduled to come out this year. Above Suspicion is a movie based on real-life events. Clarke stars opposite Thora Birch and Jack Huston. The film’ release date is still to be announced. Fans can also catch Clarke in Last Christmas which will come out this fall.

Lena Headey

Headey had a successful TV and movie career before landing the role of Cersei Lannister on Game of Thrones. Since starring in the series, the actress has appeared in many great movies. In 2013, she starred alongside Ethan Hawke in the horror thriller The Purge. She also had roles in 300: Rise of an Empire, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

On deck for Heady: The actress will appear opposite Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in Fighting with the Family. The Flood is currently in post-production and Gunpowder Milkshake and Crooks are both in pre-production.

Van Houten made her final appearance on the series during epic showdown that was episode three of season 8. The actress’ character, Melisandre, provided the fire that ultimately helped defeat the dead. She said of her characters ending: “I was actually happy and quite sentimental when I read the script. I thought it could be a beautiful ending to this character.” The actress has two movies in the works. She will play Alex in this year’s Domino.
