In the Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, relationships are incredibly complex. The Targaryen dynasty spiraled into civil war as long-hidden emotions surfaced. Amidst this chaos, some interactions were more subtle; for example, the relationship between the dowager Queen Alicent and her protector, Criston Cole, caught many off guard.
Olivia Cooke reveals she filmed a longer s*x scene
No one had actually suspected that Alicent Hightower and Criston Cole would engage in an affair. Hence fans were shocked when the scene aired in the previous episode. There was another scene in episode 2, and even though it lasted for less than a minute, it was originally supposed to be even longer, as Olivia Cooke told Decider:
” I did shoot, like, a really prolonged scene at the end of Episode 2 that unfortunately did not make the cut. Well it was, it was intense. It went on for f*cking ages. I guess Ryan was just like, ‘We don’t need to see that. Well, why did you make me do that?“
Alicent’s new relationship made her weak
Alicent and Cole’s relationship began a lot differently in Season 1. However, Season 2 took a different turn, as Cooke told ScreenRant, “I think Alicent has really weakened herself by, like, submitting to Criston. I think she was almost this deity for him and now the mystique is sort of over, isn’t it? When you have sex with someone and when you’ve involved in a relationship.”
