Game of Thrones is known for being packed with hidden Easter Eggs, episode callbacks, and even the occasional coffee cup. The design process that went into building the kingdoms of Westeros and beyond was phenomenal in conception and packed full of details that are often only spotted on multiple viewings.

When you think about it, why would the costumes be any different? They’re just as detailed and tell their own stories that are often overlooked. Since the series premiere, Michele Clapton, the Head of the Costume Department, wove those stories into the fabric of each and every costume.

Each character’s costume is designed specifically to fit their personality, history, and tie in specifically to the current position of the character.
