Picking the perfect cameos

When asked which character from the broader Westeros saga he’d love to see appear, even in a brief flashback, Ashton had two clear favourites ready.

“I love The Hound, and Rory McCann who plays him. I absolutely love him, so I’d be very pleased if he turned up.”

The gruff, no-nonsense Sandor Clegane (The Hound) remains one of the most iconic and fan-favourite characters from the original series. He has always been celebrated for his raw honesty, tragic backstory, and surprising layers of humanity.

A current collaboration sparked another wish

Henry didn’t stop there. He also threw in a name from his present-day work:

“I’m currently working on a project with Lena Headey so I’d happily have her in the series.”

Henry Ashton expressed the desire to bring Lena Headey for a cameo too, who is forever etched in fans’ minds as the formidable Queen Cersei Lannister.

As A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms continues to expand George R.R. Martin’s universe, Ashton’s wishlist highlights how deeply the cast as well, still cherish the original series’ standout performances.
