I couldnt and wouldnt want to imagine any other actor playing Jon. Kit was perfect for the role and after 7 years, hes still killing it.

Most did not refuse the roles, but were replaced by HBO after 1st episode and it was then refilmed for the most part.

does this mean refused to audition when asked to or that they were actually offered the part and they didn't accept it? If it's the latter, they're crazy for doing so, although I love the casting the way it is.

I don't know who was in charge of casting but I think they were spot on with the ones who were smart enough to not turn down the parts. I love every character, even the smarmy ones. Best show EVER!!

I read somewhere Sam Heugin didn't refuse he just wasn't chosen. He is a terrific Jamie Fraser anyway. Couldn't see any other actors playing these parts.

Cersei, Jon and Daenerys are definitely much better then they would have been with actors who refused. Tamzin as Danenrys would have been a disaster also Agent Scully as Cersei.
The only one who would definitely be better than now I think is Red Jamie Fraser as Loras Tyrell.
Also I think Jennifer Ehle would have be great Cetelyn Stark.
