Winter is Coming! Game of Thrones lovers Kit Harington and Rose Leslie plan to turn up the heat in their £1.75m Suffolk home with £500,000 refurb
They bared all to stay warm in the freezing world north of the wall as lovers Jon Snow and Ygritte in Game Of Thrones.
Now actors Kit Harington and Rose Leslie have decided on a rather less romantic way to keep cosy in their £1.75 million, 15th Century country pile – installing a modern heating system as part of an estimated £500,000 renovation.
The pair, who met and fell in love on the set of the TV series, bought their beautiful thatched Tudor farmhouse in Suffolk three years ago.
But it’s clearly a bit chilly as I hear they plan to install a new boiler, radiators and pipes in the listed building, and rip up the floorboards to fit new piping for a Victorian-style freestanding bath in the master bedroom.

The work will also include a theatrical kitchen complete with wood-burning stove and showpiece central island, a part of the project which alone will cost about £100,000.
Kit’s planning agent Diane Aldridge said the renovation was ‘part of an ongoing programme of sensitive works to the house and grounds’ which would ‘bring various utilities up to modern standards’.
Kit was said to have been paid £390,000 per episode to play Jon Snow in Thrones – which had the now rather appropriate catchphrase Winter Is Coming.
He has said of their country home, which sits in eight acres and has a swimming pool, stables, tennis court, banqueting hall and croquet lawn: ‘I found my own little spot in the county of Suffolk and I’m now a Suffolk boy. I love it. It is really special to me.’
Last month Kit and Rose, who are both 33 and married in 2018, revealed they were expecting their first child when she showed off her baby bump in a magazine photoshoot.

Celebs spouting nonsense: Billie Piper
She’s been able to bask in the success of her new show, I Hate Suzie, but Billie Piper has been warning that her job comes hand in hand with feelings of ‘extreme disturbia’.
Discussing her work, the 38-year-old actress says: ‘I don’t know that I have ever felt calm or relaxed.
‘I would say my experiences are largely that of extreme disturbia.
‘I don’t know that I could list one person I’ve met in our industries that seems to have the balance, be chill, have this healthy relationship with themselves.’
So famous people are a bit odd, Billie? You don’t say…
