The Game of Thrones connection

This casting news is especially exciting for Game of Thrones fans because it brings together two actors from completely different corners of the same universe. Peter Dinklage spent eight seasons as the sharp-tongued, Tyrion Lannister, while Dexter Sol Ansell is currently playing young Aegon “Egg” Targaryen in the prequel A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

Seeing the man who brought one of the franchise’s most beloved characters to life share the screen with the young actor embodying a future Targaryen king creates a rare, cross-generational link between the shows. For longtime viewers, it feels like a small but meaningful reunion of the world they love, even if the new film has nothing to do with Westeros.

Character details for Ansell and the other new additions have not yet been revealed. However despite knowing about Dinklage doing the project, the addition of Dexter comes as a delightful surprise for the Game of Thrones fans.

About the film

Naughty, directed by Olivia Wilde from a script by Jimmy Warden (Cocaine Bear), follows Mallory (Jennifer Aniston), a mother whose only hope of securing custody of her son from her ex is to locate Santa Claus (Peter Dinklage) and convince him to testify at her divorce hearing.

The cast also includes Chase Sui Wonders, Ike Barinholtz, Regina Hall, Samara Weaving, Kate Berlant, and John Early. LuckyChap, Margot Robbie’s company, is producing alongside Wilde and Warden.
