Game of Thrones is one of the most decorated series in television history. The highly acclaimed series still holds the record for the most number of Emmy Awards won to date. The showâs cast is still winning heaps of praise and awards, showcasing their amazing talent. Actress Hannah Waddingham, who played the famous âshameâ nun Septa Unella, has been nominated for an Emmy this year. The 47-year-old actress almost couldnât believe that she was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for the series Ted Lasso.
In an interview with E! News, Waddingham revealed she was really surprised and confirmed more than once that the Apple TV+ series had earned 20 Emmy nominations on July 13. âWell, my manager came into my hotel room and said it,â she exclusively told E! News. âAnd I went, âHold on, make sure youâve got that right first before I get excited.’â
After seeing her name on the list of nominees, Hannah was at a total loss for words. But, thankfully the Game of Thrones alum has since embraced the big news and is ready to celebrate. âIâm gonna get absolutely smashed out of my mind,â she said with a laugh. âWhy not? The workâs done.â
Apart from Hannah Waddingham, four other Game of Thrones alums have been nominated for Emmy Awards this year. They include Charles Dance (The Crown), Tobias Menzies (The Crown), Thomas Brodie-Sangster (The Queenâs Gambit), and Nathalie Emmanuel (Die Hart).
