Dexter Sol Ansell, who plays young Prince Aegon “Egg” Targaryen in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, has given fans an exciting first look at what to expect in season 2. Teasing. In a fun red-carpet interview with OnDemand Entertainment at the HBO Max UK launch event in London, the young actor was asked what happens next for Dunk and Egg.

To the question, Ansell replied with a big smile:
“It’s just the Sworn Sword. I get a bit more action. I get a bit more action, so that’s very fun. But it’s just the next story.”

Season 2 of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will adapt George R.R. Martin’s second Dunk and Egg novella, The Sworn Sword, which sees the duo travel to the drought-stricken Reach and Dorne and become caught up in a tense land dispute.
More action and exciting training
When the interviewer asked if he was happy about the increased action, Ansell answered enthusiastically:
“Yeah, that’s really exciting. So I get to do some action training and some fun stuff.”
He then playfully struck his best action poses for the camera, showing just how much he’s looking forward to the physical side of the role.
Filming in Gran Canaria
Ansell also revealed that production on season 2 is heading to Gran Canaria, Spain, very soon.
“We’ve not gone yet. We’re going to go soon… and we’re filming in Gran Canaria, so it’s going to be fun.”
The Canary Islands location is being used to capture the hot, dry landscapes described in The Sworn Sword. With season 1 still fresh in fans’ minds and season 2 already well underway, Dexter Sol Ansell’s cheerful tease has only increased excitement for the next chapter of the beloved hedge knight and his royal squire. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms season 2 is expected to arrive in 2027.
