Addressing House of the Dragon Season 2 criticism

The showrunner also tackled criticism of Season 2’s pacing. “The show has always been: we have a plan, we’re going to stick to it, we’re not going to listen to the noise in between,” Condal explained. He compared reacting midway through the series to judging a play before its final acts. While acknowledging that fans may feel impatient, he reminded them that House of the Dragon is one continuous story told across four seasons.

Fan frustration over delays

Condal admitted he understands the frustration, noting the long downtime between seasons. “Prep and shooting of the show — and this is after scripts are written — take a year, and then it takes seven‑eight months to make dragons. So, do the math. It’s not possible to come out every year,” he said, joking: “I’m very sorry, but you guys decided to be fans of the show called House of the Dragon.”
