Alicent’s reaction to Aemond’s kiss
Cooke described the moment as deeply unsettling: “How does one react to, you know, their son kissing them in a romantic fashion? Very odd, very devastating. Dangerous. She doesn’t know how to act. You know, a wrong move could get her killed. She’s sort of weighing up options in real time, and— You know, there’s disgust in there as well. I sort of dread people seeing that and their reactions.” Alicent’s predicament highlights her precarious position in the Greens, where even her own son’s dominance threatens her survival.
“It’s sort of the humiliation of Alicent and Olivia Cooke by default this show.. Many more in season three “

Humiliation as a recurring theme
When asked if there are more scenes like Aemond’s kiss, Cooke confirmed: “Yeah. We had so many. It’s sort of the humiliation of Alicent and Olivia Cooke by default, um, this show. Anyway. I mean, the feet wasn’t great. Oh, the feet as well. That wasn’t fun. You know, that’s tough. And then there’s, you know, many more in season 3, so tune in. More to—more to cut. Tune in. Tune in if you like to see that stuff.” Her comments suggest that Season 3 will continue to put Alicent through degrading situations, reinforcing her vulnerability and isolation within the Greens.
