“You can’t get your hand on a script”
In an appearance on the AJ Buckley show on May 19, Sloane described the overwhelming scale of the production and the extreme precautions taken with the scripts:
“It was incredible. I mean, the scale, the size of it… But House of the Dragon was like, ‘Okay, first of all, you can’t get your hand on a script.’”

He explained that actors are given only partial script pages known as “sides,” which are heavily restricted:
“It’s like 18 codes to get sides and then at the end of the day, they come back and they knock on your trailer and like, ‘Can we have the sides?’ and they lock it back in a box.”
Sloane emphasized that the rules are very strict:
“You can’t take them anywhere… You can’t have principal script sides.”
He jokingly also noted that Matt Smith (Daemon Targaryen) appears to be one of the few actors trusted with full scripts, while most of the cast works with limited pages only.
