(ignore redundant title wording) The most common weapon to be seen in pop culture and carried/concealed by the everyday passerby or military personnel, knives have existed for 2.5 million years well before even the Stone Age. Originally used as cutting tools, they were eventually specialized for combat which lead to the creation of such contemporary variations like the American Bowie Knife, Filipino Balisong (or Butterfly Knife) and Karambit, the Nepalese Kukri/Gurkha, the Japanese Kunai, and countless others. Knife fights have made numerous appearances in films and television. Though not as theatrical as sword fights, they have still made for some highly entertaining action on a much smaller scale. So here’s a compilation of some knife fight scenes.

  2. Of all these, the few deserving some credit for getting close to "real" are: 1) The Hunted, 2) those of Donnie Yen's movie and 3) the "improvised" fights of Bourne trilogy. The remaining are basically the childish asian movie thing.

  3. This is really great – thanks! I liked the clip from 'The Man From Nowhere' and watched the film straight after this vid – amazing. Many of these film don't receive the marketing they deserve when they are released.
