Daenerys Targaryen’s descent into madness was one of the most talked-about plot points in Season 8 of Game of Thrones (and there was much to discuss). By the end of the show, Dany had killed thousands of innocent civilians from King’s Landing. Varys executed by dragonfire; and in general meet the “insane” reputation of their family. Oh yes, and then she was murdered by her nephew lover before the Iron Throne. I can not forget. But what was the exact moment that made Daenerys evil? Emilia Clarke knows.
In a behind-the-scenes look at Game of Thrones: The Complete Collection, Clarke revealed that Daenerys might have stopped after she had rung the bells, it would not have been for a moment during the Battle of Winterfell. “In the actual battle, Dany is impatient to get there, she likes to shoot after a fight, she’s ready to do (the Night King),” she said, according to Winter is Coming. “She’s a fierce warrior, though If you do not see much melee with her, she is ready to fight to the death. “
According to Clarke, this sentiment causes Daenerys to burn several episodes later on thousands of innocent people, including women and children, in King’s Landing. “There is a lot of trouble at this point in particular – she has all that in herself to rush into this fight,” Clarke said. “It’s not just a matter of the matter, but I think she’s able to get on her cold-blooded side because of all the emotional events.” (Via)
