The ending has been given away… kind of (Pictures: HBO)

We’re just a few weeks away from finding out the ending to Game Of Thrones – a saga that has kept us gripped since the show’s premiere in 2011.

But if you’re clever enough, you might be able to decipher what happens in the end right now.

Game Of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss have hidden the ending to the fantasy epic in a Spotify playlist, for the musical Sherlocks out there.

The pair curated a special 50-track playlist with Spotify’s Head of Rock Allison Hagendorf, aptly called The End Is Coming, ahead of season eight’s premiere this weekend.

Benioff and Weiss told For The Record: ‘We were looking for songs that made us feel the way the show made us feel’ – but also revealed the ending is hidden in plain sight.

They said: ‘The answer to the ending is one hundred percent hidden in the playlist choices. No one will believe us, but it’s true.’

Now, there are songs that are clearly there for their links to GOT terms (Dire Wolf by Grateful Dead, Wolves Of Winter by Biffy Clyro) and the violence the show is known for (Wave Of Mutilation, anybody?).

But our choice for the key to the ending is Kanye West’s Power – featuring the lyrics ‘No one man should have all that power.’

This supports the theory that nobody will end up on the Iron Throne – Khaleesi did say she wanted to break the wheel, so shattering the Throne would do just that.

Kanye’s chorus could predict that were Daenerys or Jon Snow to win the Iron Throne, they could destroy the Throne with dragonfire, break up the kingdom and allow the regions to self-govern.

Or Benioff and Weiss could be trolling us, and No One Knows by Queens of the Stone Age could be telling us that no one knows how it ends. Which would be true, but incredibly annoying.

Game Of Thrones season eight kicks off on 14 April.
