You had one job (Picture: HBO)

So unless you’ve been living at Castle Black this week you’d have most likely noticed everyone is going wild over a coffee cup and Game Of Thrones.

Not sure where the story lies?

Seems the showrunners of the eighth season accidentally left a takeaway cup in one of the shots from a local cafe, with Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) shooting Jon Snow (Kit Harington) daggers with a skinny latte chilling in front of her.

How did this happen?

Sure we’re all scratching our heads at how such an in-depth, expensive and professional production that has been raging on for nearly a decade could lave something so obviously not of its canon left in shot.

But if you dive deep into the show, now heading towards its season finale – that spells the end of the whole series – you’ll notice there has been a few times this has happened.

Actually the best (Picture: HBO)

Yes, coffee #cupgate is not the first time showrunners have forgot to scan the scene while filming… and while editing and in post-production and then during the screening tests and then during the added viewings before it landed on screens *breathes*.

Stannis Baratheon’s cord

The characters in Game Of Thrones are dwelling among a time that didn’t come with the modern conveniences of today.

However in one scene where Stannis (Stephen Dillane) lay dying in season five a black cord and transformer are clearly seen hanging about his leg as he’s propped up against a tree.

Some have speculated it’s a laptop cord, however the dude is sitting in snow – is it an electronic heating mat?

Jon’s rubber sword

Look at the bend in that thing (Picture: HBO)

That’s not a euphemism, poor Kit probably can’t run with a massive sword like Jon Snow can, so he carried a rubber prop.

In the leadup to the Battle Of The Bastards Jon bolted back to his horse to save brother Rickon Stark (Art Parkinson) after Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) began throwing arrows at him.

While we immediately noticed Rickon didn’t weave, it took a few viewings to realise Jon was sporting an incredibly bendy sword.

Melisandre without her necklace

The night is dark and without a necklace (Picture: HBO)

This is totally a canon thing, but in series six episode one old mate Mel takes a bath without that life-giving necklace she later showed us needed to be on her at all times.

Or she died after withering into an old woman.

Seems she was totally fine back then without it, before her 400-year-old self was unearthed and finally came plummeting down to earth following the Battle Of Winterfell earlier this season.

Margaery Tyrell and her notification

Someone evidently forgot to take their phone out of their old timey pocket or put it on silent, as the faintest of notification sounds can be heard in a clip.

As Margaery (Natalie Dormer) speaks with orphans, around the 1.10 mark in the clip below a very out of place sound can be heard if you listen really carefully.

Tyrells need to look at their emails too, you know?

Daenerys’s wig

Her braids were totally different just seconds later (Picture: HBO)

We noticed this one pretty quickly but there was a delightful continuation error with the wig of Dany changing mid-scene.

One eagle-eyed viewer pointed out that Daenerys’ hair changed in a snapshot and shared the evidence on Twitter with screen grabs, writing: ‘Dany is wearing different wigs during her arrival in Winterfell.’

Although the pictures show Daenerys sporting her iconic blonde locks, it’s clear that her braids have been wrapped differently in the two different shots. Oops.

Sophie Turner in the credits

Poor Sophie was nearly shipped off to the Targaryens? (Picture: HBO)

In the opening credits for the show each cast member is seen alongside their house symbol.

In one episode poor Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, was seen with a dragon next to her name – the symbol of house Targaryen.

Either that was one epic foreshadowing we haven’t got to yet (or were they hinting at Jon’s lineage) or a bit of a stuff up from the caption writers…

Game Of Thrones continues on HBO and Sky Atlantic next Sunday. Seasons one to seven are available to stream on NOW TV.
