Game of Thrones had plenty of spectacular moments in its Season 7 finale, but in the final installment of HBO’s behind-the-scenes “Game Revealed” series, director Jeremy Podeswa explains that one of the episode’s most complicated stunts probably seemed pretty simple to viewers.

When Jon and Daenerys bring a wight to King’s Landing to try and convince Cersei and Jaime to join forces with them, the action centers around a single creature, but Podeswa notes that making the zombie look suitably convincing takes a lot of work.

“Strangely enough, one wight is way more complicated than ten thousand wights because you’re dealing with a wight with a lot of detail,” he explains. “So it’s behavioral, it’s visual effects to make the wight look like he’s bones and shredded skin, and doing a lot of very complicated things, and a lot of visual effects [are] required for that. It’s very specific actions, which make a very exciting, dynamic sequence, but very tricky in terms of shooting.”
