New pictures and footage from the set of Game Of Thrones season 8 show there’s going to be a huge fire at a key location.
The final season looks to be full of destruction and devastation with one major city being put to the torch.
Snaps taken by a fan reveal what couple potentially be a big spoiler, so turn back if you don’t want to find out…
Still here? Let’s press on.
Game Of Thrones fan A Red Priestess (very mysterious) posted pictures from the King’s Landing set in Belfast, showing the landmark dome in the city totally ablaze.
It looks like a devastating event is going to take place there next season, leaving King’s Landing – and possibly everyone in it – as toast.
One video posted to Twitter by A Red Priestess shows the blazing dome with a smaller fire just next to it on the left. The guard tower has also taken a beating from something and the front gate has smoke billowing from it.
What are we thinking? Another huge battle set piece? Or maybe the Mother Of Dragons is set to pay King’s Landing a visit…
Game Of Thrones producers have previously teased a potentially brutal end to King’s Landing, and it’s revolved around the layout of Cersei’s map room.
The Lannister’s map which helped plot conquests across the seven Kingdoms received significant camera attention in season seven, but it seems the room could play a big part in the forthcoming final season.
In DVD commentary from season seven (noted by fansite Winter Is Coming), there’s a specific discussion between the producers about the design requirements of the map room handed to them via showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss.
Interestingly, they stated how the room needed to be roofless and visible to the sky to fulfil a plot point in the final season.
This could connect to a classic Bran Stark vision from back in season four – where he sees massive dragon wings casting a dark shadow over King’s Landing.
Recently star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister, teased that his character will be running into someone unexpected.
It looks like Jaime is going to meeting Davos Seaworth, who fans know is a pal of Jon Snow’s. But will their interaction be good or bad?
‘I really liked working with Liam Cunningham, who plays Davos Seaworth,’ fansite Winter Is Coming quotes him telling WRadio.
‘We worked together and now we get along very well. I will not go into depth because I would be giving away spoilers.’
Jaime and Davos were together in season seven during the Dragonpit meet up but didn’t interact.
