Seth Rogen has come forward as one of the millions of Game of Thrones fans shattered by the disappointing finale, slamming showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff for pulling out of last weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con.

The pair are yet to address on backlash surrounding Game of Thrones season eight as a petition amassing more than 1.5 million signatures demanding the last six episodes were rewritten continuing to soar, while they have both been listed as ‘bad writers’ on Google in one final blow from fans.

In turn, the Game of Thrones panel was the ample opportunity to confront critics, but alas, several cast members including Maisie Williams and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau were left to speak for them.

Rogen, executive producer for both Preacher and The Boys on Amazon, made a not-so subtle dig at Weiss and Benioff at his own panel, telling audiences: ‘I’m here, at least, so I think that’s a good sign. I’m willing to show my face.’

But that’s not the end of it.

Responding to a question about the storytelling of his own series, Preacher, which cones to an end after its fourth and final season, the 37-year-old continued: ‘There was a world where we could have maybe extended it longer, but to us it felt like [it was good] having a show where nearly every episode was propelling the story forward, and moving towards a final conclusion… in a plotted-out way that was hopefully fast-paced and satisfying – you know, like the end of a TV show.’

Game of Thrones concluded with a mountain of unanswered questions, including why Grey Worm (played by Jacob Anderson) let Jon Snow (Kit Harington) live after he killed Mother of Dragons, his lover and auntie, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), while The Night King actor Vladimir Furdik attempted to clear up the mystery behind his monster’s death as Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) crept up from nowhere to stab him in the gut.

But, surely, two months since we waved goodbye to Westeros, it’s too little too late?

Hopefully, HBO can right the wrongs of the past two years with the Game of Thrones prequel, believed to be titled Bloodmoon, which has begun filming in Ireland and Italy with various pictures being leaked on social media.

Game of Thrones seasons one to eight are available to stream on NOW TV, while Preacher seasons one to three are on Amazon Prime.
