Warning: Contains spoilers for Game Of Thrones season eight
A new fan theory could explain where Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) ends up at the end of the Game Of Thrones season eight finale.
The last ever episode saw Arya board a ship and sail away to discover new worlds west of Westeros.
One fan has spotted a clue in George R.R. Martin’s books that could reveal where Arya might travel to.
Reddit user c792j770 shares an extract from A Storm Of Swords, the third book in the A Song Of Ice And Fire book series.
The character Mance Rayder talks about visiting a woman who healed him when he was injured, and mended his torn cloak ‘with some scarlet silk from Asshai that her grandmother had pulled from the wreck of a cog washed up on the Frozen Shore’.
The fan added: ‘I was wondering how a cog containing scarlet silk from Asshai could wash up on the Frozen Shore, on the western side of Westeros.
‘Perhaps it had come the long way round, or perhaps beyond the Sunset Sea is the eastern side of Essos.’
One fan replied that there was ‘another continent’ in the west, adding: ‘Maybe they can name it Americos or Aryaos’.
Another fan agreed that there would be a Game Of Thrones version of America lying to the west.
They explained: ‘Well, if Westeros is fake Europe, Essos and the far east are fake Asia/Mediterranean, and Sothyros is fake Africa then there must be a fake Americas west of Westeros. That’s what I always thought at least.’
Game Of Thrones came to an end with Arya’s brother Bran Stark (Issac Hempstead Wright) being chosen as the new ruler of the Seven Kingdoms, with the north remaining independent and his sister Sansa (Sophie Turner) becoming queen in Winterfell.
Game Of Thrones is available to watch on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV.
